Fighter Planes

Fighter Planes by Danilo Cruz Jr.
Top 10 Place: 2nd Place

“Two shots, was all I had from my camera when the fighter planes flew by during Singapore’s National Day celebration. Being quick to capture the moment is what you need for moments happen in a split second.”

Month of May 2007, Reflection

Abandoned Boat

Abandon Boat by Arnold Lacorte
Top 10 Place: 4th Place

Reflections - Burned Out

Burned Out by Ched Fernandez
Top 10 Place: 8th Place

“I thought the best way to create a reflection was to set something up on a mirror. I wanted a dark background to remove the unnecessary reflections so I needed something bright for my subject. Thus, these candles on a mirror. I thought of putting out one of the candles to send a message of burning out – which was how I felt during that time.”

Reflections - Isolation

Isolation by Ched Fernandez
Top 10 Place: 9th Place

“This was taken in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. We went there to shoot plants and insects but I didn’t have a macro lens with me so this was the only decent shot that I got from that trip. This boat was hidden behind the bushes and was really isolated from the rest park.”

Month of March 2007, Green

Little Green Snake by Tess Bueno
Top 10 Place: 8th Place

“Taken Dec.23, 2006 at Kent Ridge Park, Singapore. Spotted right behind the bench where I’m sitting.”

A Whole New Different World thru the Eyes of a Camera….

by Tess

You seem to be experiencing all the different emotions that could be synonymously described to excitement, thrilled, exhilaration, joy, happiness and bliss just by seeing that one beautiful image; catching that very moment with your photographic eye and captured by that one digital electronic equipment..Photography most often is described as a ‘visual’ art form.

Yes it is, but it can also be categorized as a ‘verbal’ art form. You may wonder why? This is because most people use photography to express those hard to find words. It also inspires us to “feel” something. When you see a great photograph of a mother and child, you would readily feel the love between the two souls. Most often, great photographs come out when emotions play part of the composition.

Once you see that image you willfeel what the photographer wants to communicate. It also lets you release your tension, from work, from the fast paced of life… So take joy in making those memorable images and/or photographs.

Let those shutter’s start clicking. c”,)
